OGIDI — APGA leading aspirant for Anambra Central senate, Uzuegbuna Okagbue, today honoured an invitation by Igwe Ogidi, His Majesty Pharm. Alex Uzo Onyido, to bestow royal blessing and support on him. The Igwe with his cabinet members in his Palace, among other distinguished sons of Ogidi, blessed Uzuegbuna Okagbue’s aspiration to the senate, declaring that Ogidi is fully behind him.
In the meeting, Uzuegbuna Okagbue spoke eloquently narrating what he would do differently as Anambra Central senator and how the people of the zone will benefit maximally through his dedicated representation of the zone at the Red Chambers. Responding to Uzuegbuna’s speech, the President General – PG of Ogidi community, Chief Chuka Onubogu expressed satisfaction over the remarks made by Uzu. “You are our son; we regard you as our son. You have spoken well and have what it takes to pull people together”, he said, citing instances that show Uzuegbuna Okagbue is a team player. He further expressed confidence in Okagbue’s skill set and ability to do the job of a senator with excellence, while regretting that Anambra Central has not been particularly fortunate with senatorial representation. “We believe that you can do this job. Anambra Central has not had a formidable representation in the senate. We believe God that you will get to the senate and you will do it differently”.
The Ogidi PG’s commendation and approval was followed by a response from Ogidi’s stakeholder, Chief Ugochukwu Okwuosa who said that he was impressed by Uzuegbuna Okagbue’s speech. In his words, “Uzu, you made a very intelligent presentation. I have not seen you talk before, but I am very impressed. It is my hope that when you get there, we will experience a distinct brand of representation”.
Igwe Pharm. Alex Uzo Onyido’s royal proclamations came last, to crown the Palace and Ogidi’s support for Uzuegbuna Okagbue. “I know his father”, Igwe assured. Listing the reasons why Uzuegbuna deserves the full support of Ogidi he said, “Uzu is our son. Secondly, some time ago we had a situation here when I called him; in less than 20 minutes, he was here and he resolved that issue. Thirdly, Mgbuke village in Umunnachi had a land dispute that lasted for about one hundred years, he was the one that resolved that land dispute about five years ago. Therefore, we are solidly behind him. We are behind you Uzu; you will go to senate”, Igwe declared.
He is a Technical Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano’s Special Adviser on Legislative Matters, whoonce was a Special Adviser to a former Deputy Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly. Ebuka is a second class upper division graduate of Political Science from University of Calabar, Calabar Nigeria and holds a Masters Degree in Political Science with specialization in Government and Development Studies, from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka Nigeria
