ENUGU — The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has successfully conducted Ward Congresses held to elect three-man ad hoc delegates in Enugu State on Saturday.
The Congress was monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and organized by the Enugu State Electoral Committee from the National Secretariat of the Party.
The congress ran concurrently in the 260 electoral wards in Enugu state and was adjudged peaceful, transparent, and credible by the Enugu State Electoral Committee from the National Secretariat.
Prince Vincent Yandev Amaabai, Chairman of the PDP National Electoral Panel expressed delight at the peaceful atmosphere and outcome of the exercise across the 260 electoral wards in Enugu State.
“The panel will submit the names of those who emerged winners from the ward congresses to the National Secretariat in Abuja,” Amaabai disclosed.
“One thing is common and commendable in all Wards visited, the willingness, orderliness, and peaceful atmosphere; to this, we commend the Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who since we, NWC, assumed office at our great party’s National Secretariat November last year, we have not heard any complaint from Enugu State and we hope that this record will continue”.
“Delegates’ election is a proper election supervised by INEC. And we are happy that the INEC representatives monitored the exercise; the results from this exercise across the 260 wards, are certainly what we are taking to Abuja. Nobody is going to change anybody’s result,” The Chairman reiterates.
Mrs. Perpetual Onyia and Obinna Anthony were part of the INEC team that monitored the Ward Congress electoral exercise.
