Television Continental (TVC) has deleted an opinion poll it conducted on Twitter after the result tipped Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) as the favourite for the ruling party’s ticket, The West African Pilot reports.

The poll, themed “Now that Atiku has emerged as the PDP presidential candidate, who should the APC field as their flag bearer?”, was conducted on the official Twitter page of the TV station on Wednesday.

Rotimi Amaechi, immediate past Minister of Transportation; Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, vice president; Ahmed Lawan, Senate President; and Ahmed Tinubu, a former Lagos governor were listed as the candidates the respondents were to choose from.

The poll centred on who would eventually emerge in the presidential primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which kicks off in Abuja on Monday, June 6.

Our correspondent learned that after 1,721 people had voted, with Osinbajo leading with 43 per cent of votes cast, followed by Tinubu with 40 per cent, Amaechi with eight per cent, and Lawan with nine per cent of the total votes cast, the poll was deleted by the TV station, owned by Tinubu.

Our correspondent also gathered that a Twitter user, @BiggDaaddyy1, a dogged supporter of Tinubu’s presidential bid, likewise, deleted his poll which equally got the same negative result.

His own poll had, apparently referring to the major grouse the camp has against Osinbajo, believed to be the political godson of the former governor, asked: “Refusing Bola Tinubu APC ticket is a betrayal; YES or NO?”

The poll garnered a total of 1,763 votes, with 73 per cent voting NO, and only 27 per cent voting YES, prompting the poll to be deleted as well for apparent reasons.
