The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rescheduled its primaries in some federal and state constituencies.
The party stated this in a press release, signed by the party’s national publicity secretary, Debo Ologunagba, on Saturday.
Ologunagba said the National Working Committee (NWC) approved the repeat primaries of some constituencies in Imo, Benue, and Katsina states, as well as the House of Representatives primaries in Lagos state.
The repeat primaries have been scheduled as follows:

Sunday, June 5, 2022

  • Ahiazu State Constituency of Imo State
  • Orsu State Constituency of Imo State
  • Musawa State Constituency of Katsina State
  • Dandume State Constituency of Katsina State
  • Zango State Constituency of Katsina State
  • Oru East/Orsu/Orlu Federal Constituency of Imo State
  • Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency of Benue State

Monday, June 6, 2022

  • Lagos State House of Representatives primaries (all 24 federal constituencies)
The West African Pilot had reported how Olubankole Wellington, popularly known by his stage name Banky W, had clinched the party’s ticket for the Eti-Osa federal constituency in Lagos after polling 28 out of 31 votes cast by delegates.
It was also reported that confusion trailed his victory after the election’s final result submitted at the PDP headquarters in Abuja emerged.
The final result showed that the singer only secured seven votes while the opposition polled 23 votes.
The repeat primary, however, gives Banky W a second chance at vying for the PDP’s ticket.
