ENUGU — The healthcare centre in Orba Udenu Local Government Area, Enugu State has received some medical equipment from Dave Ogbonnaya Ugwu, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dumaco Best Properties Limited.

Some of the equipment includes two Neonatal incubators, phototherapy machine, two Radiant warmers, a portable Anesthetic machine, and others.

Presenting the equipment to Udenu Type-3 Healthcare centre in the presence of the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Ikechukwu Obi, and the management team of the Centre, the indigenous philanthropist said the equipment he donated was to complement the giant stride intervention of the state government in the healthcare sector.

“I am here to support Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s drive to make healthcare services available to the people of the state especially those in the rural communities.”

Recall that Type-3 hospitals were constructed in 7 LGAs in Enugu state and more are under construction in LGAs that have not benefitted so far.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Emmanuel Ikechukwu Obi, Commissioner for Health, Enugu state commended Dave Ogbonnaya Ugwu for his patriotism and donations which he said will complement the efforts of the State Government in the provision of the Healthcare Centres, especially in the rural areas in pursuant of his rural development policy for the state.

Dr. Obi further revealed that Secondary Healthcare facilities in the state are also beneficiaries of the Healthcare intervention.

“A lot of things have happened in the health sector of Enugu State. The upgrading and equipping of general hospitals in the state, the building of specialist hospitals such as the infectious disease and isolation treatment hospital,”

“The list is endless, but there is nothing more touching than when you come down to the primary healthcare level, to the rural areas where we now have a modern Type-3 hospitals like the one here at Orba, Udenu LGA; this primary health facility has carried out sensitive medical practices such as caesarean section,” the Health Commissioner said.

The climax of the event was the state government offsetting the medical bills of some discharged indigent nursing mothers who underwent Caesarean Section at delivery at the Udenu Type-3 healthcare centre hospital.
