Nnewi Union USA – NUSA, is just concluding its 2022 conference and has elected a new officers for the association. For this year, the theme of the convention is “Impact of Uncontrolled Urbanisation & Security Challenges in Nnewi (and Southeast) – Role of NUSA. The convention was moderated by Prof. Chris Ulasi, communications and journalism professor, who also was a founding secretary of the association.
Highlights of the convention includes election of Dr. Julian Anigbogu as the new President of Nnewi Union USA. This is following Dr. Ike Ofomata’s successful completion of his tenure. Other elected executive members of the association are; Mrs. Chiugo Ajene who was elected the Vice President of NUSA. Dr. Chioma Okeke was elected secretary, while Mr. Keke Enemchukwu was elected Assistant Secretary. Sir Chinelo Ejimbe was elected treasurer, while Mr. Anene Okeke was elected financial secretary and finally Mazi Chidi Agba, was elected the PRO of NUSA.
During the conference, huge amount of money was raised for the ongoing construction of the Nnewi USA E-Library and Multipurpose Centre in Nnewi. With this development, work is expected to speed it real fast so that the project is delivered on record time.
Nnewi dignitaries across the USA gathered at the venue in Boston for this year’s convention. Also, some Nnewi dignitaries attended the event from Nigeria, including the Nnewi Crown Prince, Obi Orizu, whom for years now, has never missed the conference owing to how important the gathering is in shaping the town.
Nnewi Union USA is a formidable association that has distinguished itself as a very serious partner in the progress and well being of Nnewi, over the years. NnewiUSA has over eleven chapters across the United States of America.
He is a Technical Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano’s Special Adviser on Legislative Matters, whoonce was a Special Adviser to a former Deputy Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly. Ebuka is a second class upper division graduate of Political Science from University of Calabar, Calabar Nigeria and holds a Masters Degree in Political Science with specialization in Government and Development Studies, from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka Nigeria
