The presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi, has won the 2022 ‘Man of the Year’ award.

The fourth nominee, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, the founder and General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries, had stepped down and publicly endorsed Peter Obi for the award. According to him, Obi is the worthy winner of the award.

In a Facebook post announcing the results of the voting, Igbere TV (IGTV) said the leadership award, which is held annually, is an initiative organised to honour and recognise the outstanding impacts of Nigerians across the public and private sectors.

“It promotes outstanding leaders and personalities whose impacts have been felt in Nigeria’s political, social and economic spheres. The Award also applauds excellence, achievements, performance, humanitarian activities and philanthropic gestures.”

The award, fully endorsed by the African Union and African Film institute, will be presented on 5 November 2022 in a grand ceremony which will be held at Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja, the organisers said.

The Chairman of Cubana Group, Obi Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, won the 2021 edition.
