One of the renowned Islamic clerics in Adamawa State and descendant of Modibbo Jailani, Sheikh Yahaya Mustafa Modibbo Jailani joined his ancestors on Thursday at the age of 85.
Late Sheik Jailani, who died after a protracted illness until his demise is the Chief Imam Modibbo Jailani Jumma’at Mosque Yola town and left behind 2 wives, 6 children, and siblings.
Meanwhile, the remains of the Islamic cleric have been laid to rest on Friday in Yola amidst eulogies from sympathizers.
Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri sympathized with the Modibbo Jailani family and the Tijjaniya sect across the state over the great loss of the Islamic leader.
“The cleric died at a time when his services are much dearly needed by the state to guide youths spiritually and morally.
“May Allah grants the soul of the deceased eternal rest and the family, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, death is inevitable to every mortal,” he said.
Special prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of the cleric and the three other deceased persons.
