Ahead of the commencement of campaigns for the 2023 presidential election on Wednesday, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has appointed a team of ‘special advisers’ in his presidential campaign team.

The media adviser to Abubakar, Paul Ibe, who disclosed this in a press release on Monday said the appointments were aimed at strengthening the party’s campaign team.

According to Ibe, former senate presidents, Dr Bukola Saraki and Senator Pius Anyim were appointed as special envoy to the presidential candidate and special adviser respectively.

Also appointed as special advisers to Abubakar are former governor of Kano State, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau; former governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola; and Senator Ehigie Uzamere.

The former national chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus was also appointed as technical adviser.

Ibe noted that the appointments are to take immediate effect.

The appointees were charged to use their vast political experiences in ensuring that the PDP presidential campaign records resounding success in the 2023 election.
