Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State governor, has officially flagged off his campaign for a second term in office in the 2023 elections.

Sanwo-Olu made the announcement at the ninth edition of Ehingbeti Lagos Economic Summit held at Victoria Island on Wednesday.

“Today is the day that INEC officially flagged off campaigns for governorship and House of Assembly elections,” the governor  said. “There is no better time for me to do my official flag-off than at an economic summit like this, where we are talking about our city, our people and greater Lagos.”

Sanwo-Olu said he remained the best among the governorship candidates in the state, based on his administration’s track records in the last three and half years.

He said that those contesting against him in the 11 March 2023 governorship election in Lagos State are yet to match his administration’s achievement.

Sanwo-Olu rolled out his achievements and plans for Lagos State, expressing optimism that Lagos State residents would re-elect him.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had set the commencement of campaign by political parties for governorship and state assembly elections for Wednesday, 12 October 2022.
