The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor), says he would checkmate all excesses of transport unions and motor park touts if elected governor in 2023.
Adediran spoke on Sunday evening at the formal presentation of the PDP governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, to indigenes of the state residing in Lagos state. The event was held at the Nigerian Airforce, Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
He expressed his preparedness to give residents a new lease on life, saying that the time has come to liberate the people of the state, indigenes and non-indigenes alike.
“We will provide a new leadership in Lagos State,” Adediran said. “We will check the excesses of motor touts as well as Iyaloja (mother of the market) and Babaloja (father of the market) in the state.
“Anyone that closes any market in the state would be sent to prison. I am not going to have any godfather.
“We will ensure that any money collected as revenue in Lagos State is spent for the people of the state as against what is currently obtainable in the state.”
Speaking on his counterpart from Akwa Ibom, Adediran expressed belief that the cleric-turned-politician would follow the footsteps of the outgoing governor, Udom Emmanuel.
