The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has said that members of the church vying for various political positions in the 2023 general elections would continue to be its ‘top priority’ in terms of support.
Pastor Ralph Afalagboye, a regional evangelist of the church in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, made the position of the church known on Sunday.
Pastor Afalagboye urged RCCG members to mobilise support for each of its members contesting in next year’s general election irrespective of political affiliation, noting that the church is not affiliated to any political party.
“In this elections, we are supporting every of our members, irrespective of the political parties. We have no party but this is our position,” he said.
“Our members are our top priority in the coming general elections. RCCG members must know that our member is our own.”
The cleric went ahead to pray for the victory of all its members seeking for political positions in the state or federal level, including the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi, Chief Ifeanyi Odii, who is a member of the church.
