Fire has razed a Tsangaya model boarding primary school, in Kiyawa village, of Bagwai local government area of Kano state, razing 14 classes, 12 offices from the administrative block, and 21 toilets by the inferno.

Saminu Abdullahi, Public Relations Officer Kano State Fire Service explained that following a distress call received by the Bichi fire station from one Ghaddafi Sani, on arrival, the rescue team discovered that a building was engulfed by an inferno.

”We received a distress call at about 01:05 p.m. from Hon. Ghaddafi Sani-Bagwai immediately sent our rescue team to the scene at about 01:30 p.m. to stop the fire from spreading to the other classes.

“A ground floor building of about 400 x 400 ft used as a Tsangaya Model Boarding Primary School, 14 classes, 12 offices from the administrative block, and 21 toilets were completely razed by the inferno.

“The fire started from the administrative block main building, after the solar system malfunctioned, and spread to other parts of the Tsangaya School,” he said.

Mr. Abdullahi said no life was lost in the unfortunate incident, as all the students were successfully evacuated and reiterated the agency’s dedication to protecting the lives and property of Kano residents.
