In its continued effort to stem the tide of criminal activities in society, the Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended 909 suspects from January to November 2022 in connection with Kidnapping, Armed robbery, cattle rustling, and other violent crimes.
Within the same period, the command recovered 22 AK47 rifles, and 48 locally fabricated guns among other exhibits were recovered. Interestingly, after the suspects were apprehended.


CP. S.K. Akande, Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, made the disclosure Wednesday, while briefing Journalists at the State Police Headquarters, Yola, said a diligent and thorough investigation was conducted and the number 822 suspects were prosecuted.
“From January to date, the command operatives carried out tactical and intelligence-driven patrols, raiding of Criminal hideouts, rescue operations, stop and search operations, community policing, and engagement of stakeholders among others.

“Adamawa State Police Command sometime in February 2022 designed a security template to curb security challenges in the 21 Local Government Areas within the State.
“These sustainable efforts are a collective responsibility displayed by officers and men of the command,” he said.
On the 2023 general elections, CP Akande said “the Command deployed operational assets around INEC facilities for surveillance operations to checkmate criminal activities.
“The command equally interfaces with Interagency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) to mitigate threats to the 2023 general election process in the State.
“The Command engaged operational commanders of sister security agencies and improved intelligence sharing and operation tactics to dominate and checkmate political thuggery”.
He said the Command will ensure domination of political campaign venues, while places of worship and events centers were identified for adequate security before and during elections.
CP Akande appreciates the government and good people of Adamawa State for the continuous support they have been rendering to the Command and assured that all the suspects will be diligently prosecuted upon completion of the investigation, while those at large will equally be traced and made to face the wrath of the law.
