The persistent crisis between herders and farmers in Eha-Amufu community in Isi-Uzo Local Government of Nigeria has led to loss of lives, properties and destruction of farmlands and farm produce which is the major source of livelihood of indigenes of the community.

Fears of attack has not only crippled farming in the community but left several women widows and children fatherless; the fear is palpable and understandably so.

Government interventions seem to suspend the evil days as the people and community sit on a powder keg.

Taking the bull by the horn, Mr. Onunze Benedict (late) of Eha-Amufu community employed the services of a native doctor to prepare a gunshot protection charm.

However the business went sour at the testing stage when the 23 years old native doctor, Odoh Emmanuel shot and murdered Onunze.

Confirming the incidence, the Isi-Uzo Police Division of the Enugu State Command reveals that on arrest the suspect, Odoh Emmanuel, confessed to having used a locally-fabricated single-barreled gun to shoot and murder the said victim in his shrine at Umuaram Village in Ikem community of Isi-Uzo LGA.

The gun has been recovered, while further investigation is ongoing at the Homicide Section of the State CID Enugu.

In the bulletin signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ndukwe Daniel, the suspect will be arraigned in court once investigations are concluded.
