Police Operatives serving in Iwollo Division of the Enugu State Police Command collaborating with Neighborhood Watch personnel and Forest Guards on Saturday rescued 4 kidnapped persons in the state.

The victims, 3 males and 1 female were kidnapped along 9th-Mile/Eke/Akama-Oghe Road, on Friday the 23rd of December, 2022 at about 8pm.

According to the Enugu State Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, they were rescued at about 10am on Saturday 24th December, 2022 in a forest at Akama-Oghe in Ezeagu Local Government Area, Enugu State.

DSP Ndukwe further stated that all rescued victims have been debriefed and reunited with their families and a black-colored Mercedes Benz car belonging to one of the victims recovered.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Ammani, has ordered Tactical Operatives of the Command to sustain ongoing manhunt of the kidnapping suspects, who abandoned the victims and escaped.
