Two police officers arrested alongside Assistance Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dambri Vandi in connection with the murder of a Lagos-based lawyer, Bolanle Raheem, have been released.
The Lagos State Police command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin disclosed this in Tuesday in an update on police investigation into the killing.
Hundeyin said the officers were arrested because they only witnessed the incident but were released on the orders of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police having given a report on what happened
He noted that the investigation of the matter is still ongoing.
“They were arrested because they saw what happened. They were not the ones who allegedly killed the woman,” Hundeyin said.
“They have given their stories on what happened, and the CP has ordered that they should be released while investigations continue.”
Raheem was shot dead by ASP Vandi of the Ajiwe police station under the Ajah Bridge on Sunday on her way back from Christmas church service. She was reportedly pregnant.
