The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Adewole Adebayo, has told Nigerians that their senses remain the potent tool to electing and entrenching a good leadership in the country.

Adebayo who spoke in Abeokuta, Ogun State, during the flag-off of the presidential and governorship campaigns in the state, declared that beyond holding the Permanent Voter Card (PVC) to cast vote on Election Day, “PVC is not your solution; your sense is your solution”.

Adebayo submitted that voters can enslave themselves using the PVC.

“People have told me that the most powerful tool in democracy is PVC. Do you agree? You’re wrong, noting that voters can enslave themselves using the PVC.

“The most powerful instrument in politics is your brain. This is because you can have PVC and vote against your own interest. You can use PVC to enslave yourself. You can even sell your PVC which is worth more than N30bn, you can sell it for N10, 000.

“So, PVC is not your solution, it is good to have it. But your sense is your solution.

“After dancing, you go back home and ask yourself, these people (politicians) that I meant today, are they sincere? Do they understand my situation? Do they understand how to run a government?

“Do they have the fear of God and the love of man? And do they have conscience?”

The presidential candidate challenged them to vote for candidate who will use 2023 to change the narrative of the country.

Adebayo ruled out working with the APC and the PDP and asked Nigerians not to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) during the February 25 poll, describing the two leading political parties as confused.
“You can take this to the bank, we will never work with APC or PDP. Nobody who loves Nigeria at this time will want those people the way they looked confused, to come back at all. APC is a confused party. And I am not saying it as an insult, they are confused. They are in power and they are saying they are going to change the government when they are in power.

“PDP will never repent. God doesn’t mind sinners, but the job of sinners is to repent. If you were in government for 16 years and you have been out of federal power for eight years, and you are still sluggish as before, as fraudulent as before, as deceptive as before, as comical as before, then you never change,” he said.

The flag-off was attended by the top party officials and candidates including the governorship candidate in Ogun State, Engr Tony Ojeshina.
