The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested 208 suspects in connection with various crimes, including kidnapping, armed robbery, cattle rustling, and other violent crimes between 1st-26th January 2023.

The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, S. K. Akande who disclosed this Thursday at a News briefing at the Police Headquarters, Yola said out of the number, 108 suspects were charged to court.

“From January to date, the command operatives carried out tactical and intelligence-driven patrols, raiding of Criminal hideouts, rescue operations, stop and search operations, community policing, engagement of stakeholders among others,” he said.

CP Akande said 7 AK47 riffles, and 7 locally fabricated guns among other exhibits were recovered.

Other exhibits are: Live Ammunitions -218, Live Cartridges-2, Den gun/Pump Action-6, SMG Gun-1, Motor vehicle/Tricycle/motorcycle-5, Military Camouflage Uniform-1, Hand Bag-2, Mats-4, Solar Panel-1, Lubricant Oil Rubber-2, Roasted Sheep Skull-2, Pad locks/Keys/Chains- 4, Magazine-11, Magazine Spring-1, GSM/Handsets-2, Cutlass/Knife/Other Dangerous Weapon-10, Domestic Animals-34, T.V Sets-2, Generator-3, Charms-2, and Raps of Indian Hemp/Tramadol.

“The breakthrough and achievements recorded by the command- renewed its commitment and designed a security template to deliver on the mandate of the Inspector General of Police, IGP USMAN ALKALI BABA, psc(+), NPM, NEAPS, FDC, CFR. to leave a deepened legacy of Democratic system and credible electoral process in the country,” he added.

He assured that all the suspects will be diligently prosecuted on completion of the investigation, stressing that all those at large will equally be traced and made to face the wrath of the law.

“The Command appreciates the government and good people of Adamawa State for the continuous support they have been rendering to the Command,” Akande said.
