The management of the banks, in a public notice issued on Friday, said the weekend operation was to enable their customers beat the deadline.
The CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele has insisted that the old naira notes would cease to be legal tender from Tuesday 31 January, despite entreaties from different stakeholders that the apex bank should extend the deadline.
