The Catholic Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, Peter Cardinal Okpalaeke says with Christ’s victory over death it is assured that a new Nigeria where the dream of a society where the citizenry live decently, justice flow like water and righteousness like a never failing stream is possible.
Cardinal Okpalaeke stated this in his Easter message to Christians and Nigerians.
He revealed that Easter is a manifestation of God’s recreative power, adding that Lazarus was raised to life and he died again, Jesus was raised to life never to die again.
Cardinal Okpalaeke further explained that Easter is a pledge that through divine intervention, life can come forth from death, freshness from decay, joy from sorrow, and courage from despair and called on Christians to use the celebration of Easter to brace up and face the darkness and in their lives and in the world with courage and trust in the abiding presence of God.
Cardinal Okpalaeke reminded the Church that Easter is a call to remain steadfast in doing good, ever hopeful that the good will triumph over evil.
The Cardinal explained that Nigerians, are going through a valley of darkness and are surviving a lot that threatens life such as galloping inflation, unemployment, dilapidated infrastructure, etc.
He proclaimed that the celebration will bring about renewal and recreation in various families, communities and bring about a new Nigeria through the power of the risen Lord.
Wishing everyone Happy Easter, Cardinal Okpalaeke said that in spite of the difficult situation one finds himself in, he shall be “triumphantly victorious” by the power Of Jesus Christ
