A forensic audit has been launched into reports of alleged salary padding in the Integrated Personnel and Payroll and Information System (IPPIS).

Bawa Mokwa, Director of Press and Public Relations in the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF) in a statement that the Office had received inquiries on IPPIS involving some Ministries, Departments, and Agencies over alleged “salary padding”.

The statement says the office is aware of a reported breach of the IPPIS third-party payment protocol at an Institute outside Abuja, though there was no evidence of salary padding before the OAGF as of now.

The statement said the incident has since been reported to relevant anti-corruption, security, and regulatory agencies for investigation, while a staff suspected to be connected with the breach has been suspended to allow for a thorough investigation.
