The Adamawa State High Court has sentenced three Kidnappers who kidnapped a female Journalist with Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Yola to life imprisonment.

The court also sentenced two accomplices to various jail terms.

Recall that the female Journalist, Amra Ahmed Diska was abducted on 4th May, 2021 at her matrimonial home in Mbamba, Yola South LGA of Adamawa State and spent 7days in the Kidnappers den before regaining her freedom upon payment of N4million as ransom by family members.

The presiding Judge, Justice Danladi Mohammed sentenced the accused persons after being found guilty of the crime.

Those sentenced to life imprisonment are Muhammad Habib Mai alias Dram, Barde Usman and Umar Hammanjoda alias Umar Mbamba.

Other partakers are, Husseini Hamman alias Awilo was convicted to 5 years without option, after pleaded guilty on the day of their arraignment, while Umar Abubakar alias Naibi who coordinated the abduction was sentenced to 10 years with an option of N1million naira fine for abatement.

Other members of the gang members, Dogo Chongel Pullori, Dabo and Bello still at large also abducted one Ahmadu Njobdi on 11th September, 2021 of the same Mbamba Community and had spent 19 days in captivity before being release after they collected N5million as ransom.

Five of the 8 kidnappers were later arrested and arraigned before the court on the 7th, October, 2021, hence their trial and conviction.
