President of the Senate, Sen. Godswill Akpabio has announced the names of the principal officers for the tenth Senate.
The principal officers, named on Tuesday, emerged by consensus.
The majority leadership of the Senate, as announced by the Senate President are Opeyemi Bamidele (Ekiti State – APC), majority leader; David Umahi (Ebonyi State – APC), deputy majority leader; Mohammed Ali Ndume (Borno State – APC), majority whip and Lola Ashiru (Kwara State – APC), deputy majority whip.
For the minority leadership are Simon Davou (Plateau State – PDP), minority leader; Oyewunmi Olarere (Osun State – PDP), deputy minority leader; Darlington Nwokeocha (Abia State – LP), minority whip and Rufai Hanga (Kano State – NNPP), deputy minority whip.
Similarly, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas also announced the principal officers of the tenth House.
They include Julius Ihonvbere (Edo State – APC), majority leader; Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims (Kogi State – APC), deputy majority leader; Usman Bello Kumo (Gombe State – APC), chief whip and Adewunmi Onanuga (Ogun State – APC), deputy chief whip.
Others are Kingsley Chinda (Rivers State – PDP), minority leader; Aliyu Sani Madaki (Kano State – NNPP), deputy minority leader; Ali Isah (Gombe State – PDP), minority whip and George Ozodinobi (Anambra State – LP), deputy minority whip.
