The first female Commissioner of Police, in Kwara State, Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, has assumed duty in the state.
According to a statement by the spokesman of the command, SP Okasanmi Ajayi in Ilorin on Wednesday, CP Ebunoluwarotimi hails from Sagamu in the Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State.
She enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on March 3, 1990, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.
The statement said the new police commissioner has worked in several police commands and formations within and outside the country, where she held several command positions at various times.
She took over from the outgoing Commissioner of Police, Paul Odama, who was promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG.
