Operatives of the Adamawa Police Command attached to Gombi Divisional Police Headquarters in Collaboration with Crack Squad and Members of Hunters have arrested four cattle rustlers, and kidnappers at Amtasa Village along Hong local government area in the state.

At the time of arrest, items recovered from them include, two AK-47 rifles, seventy-three cows (73), three Hundred and forty six sheep (346) cows and two Magazines loaded with 13 rounds of live 7.62mm Ammunition.

According to Press Statement signed by the image maker of the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje gave the names of the Suspects to include Dahiru Bashir 22years, a resident of Kesure Village, Tukur Salisu 19years, a resident of Filindi Village, Muhammed Bello 21years, a resident of Sigire Village and Babangida Ibrahim 18years, a resident of Sigire all of Song local Government Area.

The statement further said the suspects were arrested while on their way to deliver the rustled cattle to their receivers.

The statement read in part: “the suspects during interrogation Confessed partaking in some on Cattle Rustling and Kidnapping Activities particularly from areas of Zumo/ Maigero Villages in Song local Government, part of Gombi, Maiha Local Government Areas and Cameroon Republic.

“The commissioner of police CP Afolabi Babatola, who talked tough on the Border Crimes; However, directed Commander Crack Squad SP Dibal Hussein Tijjani and Divisional police officers(DPOs) around Border Axis to checkmate such criminal activities in their Areas and apprehend them”.

The CP then directed that the matter be discreetly investigated and called on members of the public especially those around the border areas to report men of suspicious character to police officers or via these Emergency GSM numbers: 08089671313, 08107364974, and 08053872326.

The Police boss directed Commander Crack Squad to immediately prosecute the suspects and anyone found committing a similar offense.

The CP while assuring of sustained effort to protect lives and property, calls on members of the public especially those that lost their animals to report to Police Headquarters Yola with evidence and claim them.
