Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos, has said that he has invited the Department of State Services, DSS, to join in the ongoing investigation into the death of Mohbad, the late singer.

The Governor who disclosed this in a social media post on Tuesday said it was to boost the investigation, adding that he also gave an order that anyone behind Mohbad’s death should be brought to book.

“I would like to assure everyone that I am not oblivious to the sad passing of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Imole Aloba (Mohbad),” the Lagos Governor stated, “We have been closely working behind the scenes with relevant authorities, and keenly following the ongoing investigations.

“However, in order to boost the investigations, I have invited the Department of State Services (DSS) to join the investigation and widen the dragnet with inter-agency collaboration and the use of best-in-class technology to unearth the truth.

“I have instructed that all those who may have played any role whatsoever in any event leading to the death of MohBad be made to face the law after a thorough investigation.”

Governor Sanwo-Olu also implored anyone with vital information on the singer’s death to assist the investigating team. “I hereby plead with all those who may have vital information that may assist the investigation process to avail the investigating team with such,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Nigerian youths took to the streets in Abeokuta, Ogun State and Warri, Delta State on Tuesday to demand justice for the late Mohbad.

Mohbad died on September 12 at the age of 27 and was buried the next day. The circumstance surrounding his death has continued to stir up controversies on social media with many fingers pointing at his former boss, Naira Marley.
