Rwandan President Paul Kagame announced on Thursday that Africans will no longer need a visa to travel to the Central African country.

“Any African can get on a plane to Rwanda whenever they wish and they will not pay a thing to enter our country,” said Kagame at the 23rd Global Summit of the World Travel and Tourism Council in Kigali.

“We should not lose sight of our own continental market,” the 66-year-old President said in advocacy for free trade and movement of people without visa restrictions in the continent.

Once implemented, the land of a thousand hills, as Rwanda is popularly called, will become the fourth African country to remove travel restrictions for Africans after Gambia, Benin Republic and Seychelles.
