Ajuri Ngelale, special adviser to President Bola Tinubu on media and publicity, has scored Tinubu high on security.
In a televised interview on Sunday night, the presidential spokesperson said “The national security situation has evolved to the extent that it is no longer the primary talking point in the country.”
The high rate of casualties of banditry across the country that used to inundate the cover pages of national dailies, Ngelale said, has drastically dropped.
“We have come a long way from that. Right now, you are not seeing those numbers now,” he added.
Ngelale said the ultimate goal of Tinubu’s government is to make Nigeria conducive for business and investments.
“We are not saying Nigerians should be clapping for us. What we are saying is that we have made substantial progress, and we are going to ensure that we take that progress to its appropriate conclusion so that our people can live in peace, do business in peace,” he said.
“Ultimately, that is the foundation on which we will be able to attract the investments that we are aggressively promoting and attracting overseas.”
