President Bola Tinubu has retained Mele Kyari as the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL.
The President also retained Umar Isa Ajiya as the chief financial officer of the company in a major shakeup of the board and management team of the NNPCL.
Presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale announced the latest development via a statement on Monday.
Chief Pius Akinyelure will head the non-executive board whose directors include Ledum Mitee, Musa Tumsa, Ghali Muhammad, Mustapha Aliyu, David Ogbodo and Eunice Thomas.
Apart from the aforementioned appointments, President Tinubu also approved the appointment of Okokon Ekanem Udo as the permanent secretary of the Federal Ministry of Finance and Gabriel Aduda as the permanent secretary of the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
Ngelale said the appointments will take effect from 1 December 2023.
President Tinubu urged the appointees to be performance-driven and results-oriented in line with the “Renewed Hope” mandate of his administration.
