Troops of the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, codenamed “Operation Hadin Kai” have bombed the training camp of the Islamic State of West African Province, ISWAP, in Lake Chad, killing scores of jihadists.
According to a Chad Basin security and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, the air interdiction operation was on 16 December at Bukar Mairam in Marte LGA of Borno State.
The operation followed intelligence reports that the terrorists had established a training camp in the area and were meeting up for an imminent attack on Nigeria’s military bases.
NAF destroyed properties and several logistics of the rebel group, and only a few survivors were seen fleeing the area after the bombing.
