Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has written to police authorities, intimating them of threats to her life by her male colleague Davido.

In a letter addressed to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fayoade Adegoke, dated 9 January 2024, Tiwa Savage said Davido threatened to “f**k me up” for her continued relationship with Sophia Momodu, the mother of Davido’s first girl child, Imade.

According to the singer, Davido started threatening her “rights to life, privacy and dignity” after she made an Instagram post of herself and Momodu on 23 December 2023.

“Mr David Adeleke sent messages to my manager who’s also part of his management team that I shouldn’t worry and should never say a word to him and that I was taunting him, uttering very disrespectful, malicious, and derogatory words to my person,” Tiwa Savage said in her petition.

“The events of that day have also led to a barrage of calls and messages from our mutual connections, asking me what I did to Mr. David Adeleke and that he’s upset that I chose to maintain a relationship with Imade’s mother, Sophia Momodu who he’s having issues with and also painting the exchange to look like I was the aggressor.”

“He has also told our mutual connections to warn me to ‘be careful in Lagos because he was going to f**k me up,'” she added.

She urged the police to “hold Mr. David Adeleke responsible” should anything happen to her and her family members because of the distressing “online and offline harassment.”
