The Nigerian military has urged Nigerians to stand firm against terrorism in 2024.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday, Major General Edward Buba, director of the Defence Headquarters’ media operations, assured that the military will put in ‘tremendous force’ to tackle insecurity.

“We aim to find and destroy the terrorist wherever they may be hiding to ensure their enduring defeat. This would deny the terrorist the ability to terrorise or hurt citizens across the country,” the Major General said.

He urged Nigerians to aid security agents in the aggressive war against terrorists by providing information to assist military efforts to nail the outlaws. Security, General Buba said, is a collective responsibility.

“No gree for terrorists, no gree for perpetrators of insecurity,” Buba said, joining the “No gree for anybody” trend.

Speaking further, he said, “Make Nigerians no gree for terrorists this year. You see something, you say something, and we (the military) assure them (Nigerians) of doing something.”

Curiously, Buba used the trending slogan a few hours after the Nigeria Police Force warned Nigerians to desist from using it, saying it could “cause problems across the country.”

According to the NPF spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, “‘No dey gree for anybody’ is being seen as just a normal talk but in the security business, in the security community, we have seen it as a very very dangerous slogan that can trigger a crisis.
