Gunmen who operates from the Kuyeri Forest in Kaduna State have launched fresh attack on an Abuja community and whisked away with at least twenty three persons on Thursday.
The abducted victims were from the Kawu community in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
Abdulmumini Zakari, Councilor representing the area who confirmed the incident to newsmen, said the gunmen invaded the community after divided themselves into groups.
He disclosed that the bandits abducted the former PDP chairman along with his four children, adding that the bandits thereafter went into the compound of Sarkin Pawan Kawu, Gambo Pawa, and abducted him, alongside his two wives and children.
“Some went into the palace of the district head, Alhaji Abdurrahman Danjuma Ali, and abducted his son, Lukman, and his wife, who he married two weeks ago.
“Others attacked the compound of Alhaji Alhassan Sidi Kawu, the Marafa of Kawu and a former PDP Chairman of Kawu Ward, he said.”
Spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident.
Many communities in the FCT especially those in satellite towns and outskirts of the city are are mostly vulnerable to attacks and criminal activities.
