Two International trans-border armed robbers and two Nigerian accomplices who robbed Adamawa State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Development Mohammed Abubakar Sadiq have been arrested by the Police.

The robbers who stormed the residence of the cabinet member inflicted injuries on his body and carted away with a government Hilux car attached to the Commissioner.

However, luck ran out of them, when police operatives arrested them while attempting to cross to the Cameroonian Republic and depose the stolen vehicle.

 The operational strategy introduced by Adamawa State Police Command to checkmate criminal activities such as Armed Robbery, Shilla Gangsterism, and Kidnapping amongst others within the state capital has yielded a positive result with the arrest of a syndicate of Four who have been apprehended.

Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje in a statement revealed that the suspects had confessed to the crime of attacking the state Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources Development.

He said items recovered from them were a Toyota Hilux, a Beretta Pistol, three live ammunition, Two Anti-trackers, Five Handsets, Foreign Currency, and others.

 “The Suspects; Mustapha Muhammed 47 years old resident of Lelewalji, Girei local government area, Isa Adamu 55 years old resident of Tudun Wada area of Sokoto State, Salihu Buhari 38 years old resident of Garoua, Cameroon Republic and Abdullahi Abubakar 35 years old also, a resident of Garoua, they were arrested on February 12, 2024, by a combined team of police operatives attached to Girei Divisional Police Headquarters, after attacking the House of Hon. Muhammed Sadiq Wali, Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Environment, Adamawa State, robbed him of his Toyota Hilux and other valuable items.
“Interestingly, all the items stolen from the Victim’s residence were recovered,” the statement added.
The statement further said the suspects will be prosecuted by the Extant Laws.
