Nigeria’s defence chief, General Christopher Musa on Monday said the terror attacks on communities and defenceless Nigerians will “end soon.”
Gen. Musa was in Kaduna yesterday to offer his condolences to the State Governor, Uba Sani and the people of Kaduna following the abduction of dozens of schoolchildren on March 7.
Apart from the Kuriga incident, Kaduna has witnessed violent attacks in different communities since February 28 with the latest being the kidnapping of 87 persons in Kajuru in the early hours of Monday.
Yet, the defence chief chose to focus on the March 7 incident. “You, the parents, we know, have been having sleepless nights; we are also experiencing the same,” he said
“We are reassuring you that we are not sleeping. Many troops are coming and we are taking more actions to safeguard and bring the children out safely, as quickly as possible.”
Gen. Musa noted that the military had zero tolerance for terrorism and would stop at nothing to apprehend every terrorist in the country and their sponsors.
In his words, “For those individuals who have sworn there will be no peace, they will equally see no peace, and we will follow them anywhere they are.”
“Those who are sponsoring them should stop for their own good. The state cannot be put under the control of anybody; anybody who will stand in the way of getting peace in Nigeria will be brought to book.”
He added, “They are working on their own evil plan, but God is on our side and we are working tirelessly to ensure we secure the state, the country, the citizens and most especially to free all the abducted ones. What is happening will end soon.”
