Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has condemned the Felele robbery attacks in Kogi State and directed the formation of a committee comprising relevant authorities and security personnel to investigate and identify those responsible and put an end to the distressing incidents.

He said, “To those behind these acts of terror, I urge an immediate cessation and retreat. Be warned that there will be no leniency for anyone caught. Kogi State is no place for cultism and thuggery.

“And to our dear students, you are not alone. The governor is deeply committed to the safety and well-being of every student in Kogi State. Rest assured that we will utilize all necessary resources to apprehend the perpetrators, ensure they face the full extent of the law, and guarantee your continued safety,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in Kogi State, CP Bethrand C. Onuoha, assured the Felele community as well as students of the Federal University Lokoja of their safety.

A press statement on Tuesday signed by SP William Ovye Aya, Kogi Police Public Relations Officer noted that the CP has deployed Tactical Team to the area for intelligence gathering, visibility policing to reassure the community of safety.

He urged the people of Felele to cooperate with the police and other security agencies and volunteer credible information on the activities of criminal elements within the Felele axis.

The Commissioner of Police also assured of the Command’s unwavering commitment in ensuring adequate security of lives and property.
