The federal government has disbursed N7.8 million to deserving winners of the Federal Civil Service Innovation Competition.

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan who unveiled the recipients of this year’s honours in a prestigious ceremony held in Abuja said, “Innovation is about identifying problems, stirring up creativity and engaging in divergent thinking to derive solutions to improve the quality of life.

Thematic areas of the competition covered Reward and Performance Management, Mentorship and Succession Planning, as well as Talent Management and Knowledge Transfer through E-Learning.

A total of 203 submissions were made for the competition which showcased the depth of talent and dedication within the Nigerian civil service.

At the final round which was held on March 22, 2024, 14 finalists battled it out in which the top three were selected.

The star prize winner was awarded N3 million, while the first and second runners-up received N1.75 million and N1 million respectively.

10 other innovators were recognized with consolation prizes of N200,000 each.

This is the 4th Edition of the competition which began in 2020.
