The demarcation of boundary communities of Amana and Ohanku in Ezza South and Ikwo Local government areas in Ebonyi State has commenced.

The peace committee set up by the state government led by the Commissioner for Land and Survey, Hon. Matthew Nwobashi described the process as successful, adding that the two communities have been supportive.

Hon Nwobashi enjoined their stakeholders to continue promoting peace in the area.

“All the teams came in their good numbers, and we visited the site. We have equally made some agreements in certain areas.

“Both villages have agreed in some certain areas; we have measured the land and it only remains for our technical team to go round and complete the action,” he said.

Also speaking, state Commissioner for Border Peace and Conflicts Resolution and member of the committee, Dr Ilang Donatus all the necessary mechanisms have been put in place by the state governor to ensure that all the communities having boundary crises are permanently resolved and demarcated.

“We are pleased that these people are following us together, resolving the grey area and accepting the points marked as their boundary, and as such, it is a welcome development.

“So, just like here in Amana and Ohanku, the governor formulated this peace committee to ensure that permanent peace is entrenched in all communities of the state,” he added.

He commended the team for their commitment to ensuring that peace is achieved in the area.
