The Adamawa State Police Command has reassured the Adamawa State Government and people of the state hitch-free Easter celebrations across the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Dankombo Morris who gave the reassurance in a statement signed by the image maker of the command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje said already, personnel of the command have already been deployed to places of worship.
CP Morris reiterated his commitment towards ensuring the safety and security of all citizens during the Easter period and beyond, explained that the measures are in tandem with the commitment of the Inspector General of Police IGP System of Policing, for 24/7 Police presence to dominate the public spaces across the State.
He urged people to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest Police Station.
The statement reads in part: “The CP directed that all Divisional police officers (DPOs), Operational Commanders, and their supervising Area Commanders to personally lead the Men deployed to areas of likely security threats within their respective areas of responsibility (AoRs).
“The proactive visibility patrols will be conducted at all places of worship, Event Centers, residential areas as well as other places of functions.
“The Command emphasizes the importance of professional conduct among its officers deployed for these duties and warned that all officers to be accountable and transparent while discharging their responsibility.
“The CP felicitates with the Government and people of the state especially the Christian community, on the occasion of the Easter celebration.”
Meanwhile, the Adamawa State Government has declared Friday, 29th March, and 1st April 2024 as public Holiday holidays to enable Christians to have time to celebrate Easter.
