Police Operatives serving in the Enugu State Command’s Central Police Station (CPS) Enugu have arrested two male suspects involved in the one-chance robbery, abduction, and other criminal activities.

The male suspects, Ejike Okorie (26 years) and Christopher Kindness (25 years) who for the timely interception of the police would have been set ablaze by an angry mob both hail from Ameke Ngwo, Enugu North Local Government Area in Enugu state.

The official bulletin of the Police Command signed by the Police Public Relations Officer DSP Daniel Ndukwe reveals that both miscreants abducted a lady (name withheld), but were intercepted by an angry mob who beat them up and set the minibus with which they operate ablaze at the P-and-T bus stop, Okpara Avenue, Enugu.

“A preliminary investigation has shown that the suspects confessed to the crime,” DSP Ndukwe wrote.

“They stated how they and others at large have been perpetrating the criminal acts of “one-chance” robbery, abduction, and fraudulently obtaining money and other belongings from unsuspecting victims within Enugu metropolis.”

“The suspects will be arraigned in court and prosecuted once investigations are concluded.”

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, commending the Police Operatives for their quick intervention urges citizens to always adhere to the laws of the nation rather than taking laws into their hands by meting out jungle justice;

“Hand criminal suspects over to the Police for necessary investigation and prosecution, instead of resorting to self-help in the form of the criminal act of jungle justice,” CP Uzuegbu charge.

One-chance robbery is a common criminal act wherein a commercial bus with persons inside it posing as normal passengers lures an unsuspecting victim into it to rob, kidnap, or inflict other criminal activities on the victim.
