A team of three Anambra schoolgirls has emerged the winner of the National Girls in ICT Competition. Team Vianney of St. John Vianney Science College in Igbariam , Anambra East local government area of Anambra State, emerged winner in the competition organized by the Federal Ministry of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy, for Schoolgirls in ICT.

Team Vianney represented by Immaculate Ebube Ikegwuonu, the team lead, Camila Anyadike, and Nweke-Nonso Oluchi, easily out-performed their competitors from across the country.

Before the competition, the victorious team had been mentored by Kodex Africa, under whose guidance the team developed their innovative M-Tag VR solution. This solution enables access to the rich Nigerian culture and other attractions, giving exceptional experience to users, while also serving as a loaded learning tool.

Speaking on behalf of the team, Miss. Immaculate, the team lead, expressed appreciation to the school and their coach, John Onuigbo. “We are immensely grateful for this opportunity and indebted to our school for fostering our passion for careers in ICT”.

Similarly, Kodex Africa has reacted to the development in a statement by Idika Chidimma Ukpai, Operations Lead for Kodex Africa. According to Chidimma, “The victory is a testament to the dedication and talent of these young girls. They have not only showcased their technical skills, but also their ability to innovate and problem-solve”. Chidimma also thanked the Federal Ministry of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy, for the initiative, while highlighting Kodex Africa’s commitment “to empowering young innovators driving ICT advancement in Anambra State and beyond”.
