Hon Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications has harped on the responsibility of people to their parents while they’re alive,

The Commissioner disclosed this while addressing journalists during his father-in-law’s burial at his home town Takete Ide Amuro, on Friday.

Fanwo noted that his father-in-law, Late Pa Sunday Paul Atteh was a very jovial, humble, accommodating and loving person, pointing out that he is saddened that they would miss him at a time when they immensely need to tape from his wealth of wisdom.

“It’s very sad to lose loved ones but this event is a celebration of life. We thank God for the life he lived and we want to continue that legacy. I’m not just a son-in-law but a son and we learnt a lot from baba.

“He was a very jovial person, even when he advised you on very important issues, he would still do it with jokes, so that you won’t feel bad.

“Late Pa Sunday Paul Atteh was a very jovial, very humble, very accommodating and very loving person. We would miss.

Fanwo added, “My advice for the people that still have parents is to take care of their parents, do everything to satisfy their parents. They should do everything to make their parents comfortable and happy. It’s very important.”

Late Pa Sunday Paul Atteh is survived by a wife, children and grandchildren among whom is the wife of the Hon. Commissioner, Mrs. Ruth Fanwo.

At the outing service at The Apostolic Church Takete Ide Amuro, several family members and friends poured encomium on Late Pa Sunday Paul Atteh.

One of the family members narrated how Late Atteh accepted him and others into his family in such a way that people around couldn’t different his biological children from the people he accommodated.

He said that baba loved them equally and wanted progress and development for all of them, even as he commended Mrs. Atteh for her unwavering love and support.

Elder Samson Atteh, a childhood friend of Late Pa Atteh, described him as a gentleman to the core, a man with a good heart as they lived as brothers from the same mother, stressing that he inherited those good traits from his father.

He prayed that God’s protection would continue to be upon the children and the wife he left behind.

Mr. Ojo Atteh, first son of Late Pa Atteh, described the late elder statesman, as jovial, caring, loving and accommodating, who cared for his wife, children, grandchildren, family members and friends.

In attendance at the event were, Hon. Olawumi Jacob, representing Mopamuro State Constituency and Hon. Emmanuel Obaro, representing Yagba East State Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Former Chairman Mopamuro LGA, Hon. Sunday Moses (Alumo), Former Chairman, Yagba East LGA, Hon. Pius Kolawole.

Others were, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Mr. Teddy Adegbola, Director General Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, Alhaji Ojo Oyila, Editor of Graphic Newspaper, Mr. James Oyewole, all Directors and staff of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Directors from Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation and Directors from the Graphic Newspaper.

Also at the event were, Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters for Yagba Federal Constituency, Hon. Pius Kolawole, Billie Nwogu, former Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Electronic Media, Business Magnates, Engr. Tayo Toluju, Chief Kunle Abogun and Prince Richard Fiki were also present.
