Over the weekend, Architect Chukwudi Ezenwa, the Chairman of GSS Construction and Real Estate; the company handling the construction of Solution Fun City in Awka, took Dr. Nelson Omenugha; Special Adviser to Governor Soludo on Youth Empowerment Programmes, and Ebuka Onyekwelu, on a tour of the ongoing project. The Solution Fun City, a multi-faceted and luxurious leisure and sports complex, is seated on twelve hectares of land, in the heart of Awka, Anambra State capital. The project which is owned by the Government of Anambra State was awarded by Governor Chukwuma Soludo a few months ago and is expected to be delivered later in the year. During this tour, Mr. Ezenwa, a 31-year-old talented architect, spoke on the ongoing project, the expected delivery date of the project, as well as some of the difficulties he is having which he hopes would not interfere with the project’s delivery date.
Located strategically beside the Awka Township Stadium, the Solution Fun City is a massive complex that upon completion, would house a Family Fun Centre, for indoor games, three cinema halls, as well as an intercontinental food court, among others. The edifice upon completion is also expected to have a water park that mirrors the best water parks around continental Africa. Other facilities expected to be featured in the Solution Fun City are an Amusement Park, Lawn Tennis Court, Sports Park, and Exquisite Bars, among many others.
Significantly, the arena would also house a Country Club, whose membership is reserved for the best, of the best, of Anambra State. Plans are also on the way for developing a golf course as part of a deliberate effort to deepen sporting in Anambra State.
Speaking during the tour of the facility, Arch. Ezenwa passionately narrated his plans to deliver nothing short of the finest quality that is possible for such a project. According to Ezenwa, the project is a mega venture that has huge potential in terms of economic benefits to the state and the people of Anambra State. He also pointed to the social and health benefits of such facilities, noting with emphasis that Anambra State is long overdue for it.
Responding to the question on the feasibility of the project’s delivery date which is December 2024, Arch. Chukwudi Ezenwa assured that he and his team are focused on ensuring that they deliver. But when asked if there are hurdles to the project delivery date, he pointed to civil service bureaucracy, as a possible impediment. “The governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo is passionate about this project and we are determined to make it happen, as expected. So for us at GSS Group, we will deliver on our entire mandate in this project with not a single exception. However, this project is supervised by the Ministry of Works, so there are bureaucratic procedures that sometimes constitute delays which may affect overall output. Though, we are confident that in the end, it will turn out just as expected,” Arch Ezenwa said.
In his reaction, Dr. Nelson Omenugha, commended the governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, for his confidence in Anambra youths. He further applauded Arch. Ezenwa’s competence, passion, and creativity, observing that Ezenwa is an exemplary Anambra youth. “I thank the governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for his confidence in us as young people. I am certain that Arch. Ezenwa is a very fine professional and there is no doubt that he would deliver. From what we have seen here today, you can attest to his passion and commitment to this project,” Omenugha said.
