Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has commended the security agencies in the state for their synergy and teamwork, which have grossly reduced the rate of crimes across the state.

The Governor gave the assurance in his office on Friday when he was presented with the award won by Operation Haba Maza security outfit as the best police patrol outfit in Nigeria, by the Nigeria Police Force.

In a statement through his media aide, Mamman Mohammed, the Governor assured more support to security operatives in the state to enhance their performance for a secured state.

“Operation Haba Maza” was established in 2019 by Buni’s administration as an emergency support to the conventional security agencies in the state.

Earlier, Garba Ahmed, Yobe State Commissioner of Police commended the governor for establishing the outfit and called for the extension of the outfit to other major towns in the state to assist in curbing crimes.

“The outfit has remained a strong pillar in fighting crime in Damaturu, the state capital, and its environs,” he said.

Ahmed then requested for additional vehicles to boost logistics for effective patrol across the state.
