Manchester City etched their names even deeper into the Premier League history books on Sunday, securing a remarkable fourth consecutive English Premier League title.
Pep Guardiola secured the championship with a thrilling 3-1 victory over West Ham at the Etihad Stadium.
Despite City’s victory, tension hung heavy in the air as their closest rivals, Arsenal, were also battling for glory across town at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal, Manchester City’s closest challengers throughout the season, were also victorious, defeating Everton 2-1, creating a nail-biting wait for the final confirmation.
However, City’s superior goal difference ultimately sealed their fate as champions, sending their fans into raptures. The Gunners fell just two points short in the table.
Phil Foden, voted EPL Player of the Season earlier this week, scored two goals for Manchester City in the 2nd and 18th minute, and Rodri sealed the victory with a goal in the 59th minute.
This historic achievement eclipses the previous record of three consecutive titles held by Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson (2006/07 to 2008/09).
