Community leaders in Taraba State have been charged to continue collaborating with security agencies for peace to reign across the state.
Governor Agbu Kefas made the call on Sunday while felicitating with the Muslim Ummah on the celebration of Eid-El-Kabir.
He said Taraba State has all the faiths cohabiting in peace, adding that his administration would continue to be fair to all sides, and reiterated his administration’s commitment to the state’s peace, unity, and progress of the state.
Kefas said the government will continue to support security operatives to rid the state of all sorts of criminality and stressed the need for people irrespective of political parties to give his administration all the desired support that will take the state to a greater height.
Also, the Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has urged Muslims to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir to follow the exemplary virtues of Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him which centre on peace and unity.
The Governor made the plea in Shelleng after observing the two raka’at supererogatory prayers in commemoration of the 2024 Eid-El-Kabir Sallah celebration on Sunday.
He noted that promoting peaceful coexistence and tolerance in society would be a driving force that would overcome the current insecurity bedeviling the country.
Fintiri, also urged citizens to continue to pray for leaders and the nation at large, lamented over the inflation across the country, but was optimistic that things will soon be better.
In his sermon after leading the prayers, Chief Imam Mallam Rilwanu Dankaka dwelled extensively on the history and significance of the Eid-El-Kabir enumerated categories of healthy animals to be sacrificed.
The Chief Imam offered Special prayers for tranquility in the country.
Similarly, the Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi has called on all citizens to pray for economic recovery, national security, and the well-being of every Nigerian.

“Let us pray for economic recovery, national security, and the well-being of every Nigerian.
“Our collective prayers and efforts will pave the way for a brighter and more prosperous future for us all”
“As we gear up to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, I extend my heartfelt greetings and warm wishes to all the people of Jigawa State and Muslims around the world.
“This blessed occasion reminds us of the values of sacrifice, endurance, and devotion to Allah.
“The overarching objective of my administration’s 12-point agenda is the transformation of our dear state into a modern, self-sufficient, and economically developed haven where all residents will live in peace and prosperity.
“In the past 12 months of our running the affairs of the state, we have shown our administration’s commitment to economic empowerment, youth employment, agricultural transformation, revitalization of education, infrastructure development, among other areas.
“Despite the challenges posed by the prevailing economic situation in the country, I remain optimistic about our future.
“Our administration is dedicated to implementing programs and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for our people.
“We are working tirelessly to enhance the economic status of our people thereby reducing the level of poverty among our citizens.
“Given this, we have determined that we will decrease the poverty rate in the state by 10% annually.
“As we celebrate Eid, I call on all citizens to pray for our state and the country. Let us pray for economic recovery, national security, and the well-being of every Nigerian.
“Our collective prayers and efforts will pave the way for a brighter and more prosperous future for us all.
“May this Eid bring joy, peace, and blessings to every home. May Allah accept our sacrifices and grant us the strength to overcome our challenges. Eid Mubarak!” he said.
