The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all the elective positions in the just concluded Ebonyi State local council election.

The ruling party won all the 13 local government chairmanship positions and 171 wards councillorship seats in the election held last Saturday.

Jossy Eze, chairman of the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission (EBSIEC), announced the results of the election Sunday at the Commission’s office, Abakaliki, the state Capital.

He stated that three political parties, namely : APC, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the Labour Party (LP) participated in the election which he described as free, fair and credible.

Eze said that in Abakaliki local government Ebere Stephen Nwogba won with 9,4071 votes while Timothy Nwachi polled 5,1886 votes in Afikpo local government area to emerge victorious.

According to Eze,  Chima Ekumankama and Chinedu Uburu scored 71, 040 and 44, 967 votes in Edda and Ebonyi local governments respectively, while Ogodoali Nomeh and Mrs. Euphemia Nwali won in Ezza North and Ezza South LGAs, with 42,709 and 50,770 votes, respectively.

In Ikwo and Ivo local government, the EBSIEC Chairman noted that Sunday Nwankwo scored 83, 791 votes and Emmanuel Ajah scored 35, 905 votes to emerge winners.

He further disclosed that Stephen Emenike got 85,887 votes in Izzi local government while Agwu Peace Ifeoma scored 48392 votes in Ishielu LGA to emerge winners.
