A Mobile Police officer with Mopol 6, Maiduguri, and serves as a security detail at the Borno State House of Assembly, Sergeant Linus Wadzani has killed his father ASP Wadzani Ntasiri (Rtd).

The incident occurred in the Tudu area of the Maduganari community behind the Borno State Police Command headquarters in Maiduguri.

Briefing Journalists at the Borno State Police Command Headquarters on Monday, the command’s spokesman, Kenneth Daso, stated that the deceased had served at the state command with the Mounted Unit.

“The incident occurred when Sergeant Linus arrived home at about 4:30 pm on Sunday and engaged in a heated argument with his father.

“This confrontation led him to fire multiple shots from an AK-47 rifle, resulting in his father’s death.

“When police officers visited the scene, a family member revealed that only the father was present at the time, and no one else could provide an account of what had transpired.

“A forensic team from the command has been assembled, and blood samples from the sergeant have been collected to determine his mental state,” Daso explained.

Daso added that an investigation into the homicide was currently underway.
