Just two days after the reported passing of the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, another tragic news has emerged – Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, a federal lawmaker representing Anambra South Senatorial District, has also passed away at the age of 52.

Senator Ubah, who had flown to the United Kingdom after falling seriously ill a few weeks ago, passed away on Saturday morning in a London hospital. Reports indicate that his condition had deteriorated rapidly in the past 48 hours.

The cause of his death has not been confirmed at this time, but WAP’s co-founder, Dr. Chris Ulasi, is currently in a phone conference with the late Senator’s political associates to gather more information. Dr. Ulasi eloquently portrayed the late Senator as a fierce advocate for democracy, passionate about determination and service. He poignantly expressed, “As you journey beyond, carrying the hope and promises for service into your next pursuit, we remember that life is never still.”

Senator Ubah was elected to the Senate in 2019 under the Young Progressive Party (YPP) and was reelected in 2023. Earlier this year, he switched to the All-Progressives Congress (APC) and had expressed interest in running for the governorship of Anambra State in the upcoming election.

Further details on this tragic event will be provided as they become available.
